The Shine Saints Pumas FA qualified coaching team will deliver a combination of training sessions, friendly & competitive fixtures, skills, techniques and knowledge of the game in a supportive and professional environment.
This squad is for training only and will not be eligible for matches.
The Under 9s Squad is eligible for girls in Year 4. Book here and pay £31.50 p/m via Direct Debit for the season. Your subs include the following:
- Pre-season Training - On Tuesdays, starting Tuesday 5th August 16:15-17:15, running until Tuesday 26th August 16:15-17:15.
- Season Training sessions - Tuesday evenings from 17:15-18:15 at Shine Sports Ground, BS6 7XW starting on Tuesday 2nd September 2025. (Not in school holidays)
- Communication - All Puma's matches and general communication is organised via our match app, SPOND.
- Competition - Puma's U9 Squad compete in the Bristol Girls League although this is the training squad and not eligible for matches.

Season Overview
Players will get the chance to improve their technique in all the essential skills through fun games.
The focus of the weekly sessions will include:
- Attacking (Shooting, Crossing)
- Defending (Tackling, Positions, Goal side)
- Pattern of play (E.g. playing out from the back, wing play and pressing the ball)
- Communication and team work
- Free kicks, penalties and other set play pieces
- Ball control (Dribbling, turning, skills & aerial control)
- Matches and rules
- Learning to win and lose
- Long, short, lofted and driven passing
- Team Formations
In addition to improving the participant’s knowledge of the game and helping them to work as part of a team, sessions will also incorporate fundamental skills such as;
- Balance
- Speed
- Communication
- Co-ordination
- Agility
Matchday and Training Facilities
Shine Saints Pumas home ground is located at the Shine Sports Ground, Lime Trees Road, BS6 7XW which provides an excellent sand based astro and grass playing surfaces with marked pitches and Football Association approved goals.

Please note we don't train in school holidays or bank holidays.
