Play in a Day - Wicked(Years 3 to 6)
Led by our enthusiastic drama team
Clifton High School, BS8
Join Shine's Performing Arts Coaches and come to the Emerald City to explore the World of Oz. Wicked tells the untold story of Elphaba, the green-skinned girl who becomes the Wicked Witch of the West, and her friendship with Glinda, the Good Witch. The plot follows their time at Shiz University, where their rivalry and bond develop against the backdrop of political intrigue in the Land of Oz. Elphaba dreams of meeting the Wizard of Oz, only to discover he is a fraud who exploits her unique powers for his own gain. The show explores themes of friendship, identity, and the nature of good and evil.
Children will be making props, set and provided with costume to fully immerse themselves in the world of Oz. Building confidence, enriching imaginations, trying new skills and building friendships all in one day!
We may have a face painting activity on this day. If we do, your child will be asked if they would like to take part but please let us know if you would rather they did not.
Parents are invited to join us at the end of the day to watch a performance by the children to showcase what they have been working on during the day. There is no obligation to attend (or for your children to take part if they don't want to), it is just for fun and will take place at 3.25pm.
The Shine core day finishes at 3:30pm but you can extend your child's day if you need to:
- Late Pick Up until 4:45pm - Add on Late Pick Up when you book. Snacks are not provided but children are welcome to eat any snacks they have with them. £5.00
