Performing Arts - Play in a Day(Ages 8 to 11)

Join the Performing Arts club this summer and flex your storytelling skills! Each week over the summer holidays the Performing Arts club will be led on a storytelling adventure where they must help the Shine Coach create a play in a day! They will be given a theme, costume, props and plenty of encouragement to let their imaginations go wild!
On Wednesday 31st July, the theme of the day will be Under the Sea
- Let your imagination loose under the sea! Get your swimming goggles on and dive into the endless storytelling possibilities to produce a play in a day. Dive in and explore the depths of the ocean and discover an adventure. Snorkel through the coral reefs, explore shipwrecks or meet mermaids the story is up to you!
On Wednesday 14th August, join us for a Fairytale Adventure
- Turn the page and discover the endless storytelling possibilities to produce a play in a day. Mix up your favourite tales and see what happens! Meet the Big Bad Wolf, climb up Rapunzel's hair or fly on the back of a dragon, the story is up to you!
On Wednesday 28th August, the theme will be Lost Treasure
- Explore the shop of lost treasures and discover the endless storytelling possibilities to produce a play in a day. Meet the shopkeeper, follow the clues and return the lost items to their rightful owners, the story is up to you!
Parents are invited to join us at the end of the day to watch a performance by the children to showcase what they have been working on during the day. There is no obligation to attend (or for your children to take part if they don't want to), it is just for fun and will take place at 3:25pm.
The Shine day finishes at 3:30pm - To extend your day until 4:00pm - simply tick 'Late Pick Up' when you add this activity to your basket.

- Packed lunch, drinks and snacks for the day. Shine endeavours to be a nut free organisation and request no products containing nuts or traces of nuts are brought in their snacks/packed lunches. This includes Nutella, Pesto, Kinder Bueno and anything else containing nuts. We reserve the right to call you and ask to bring alternatives.

Activity Details
The Shine performance arts group will be guided through a range of activities throughout the day. A typical day will start off with them participating in ice breaking activities/games. After break they will start the main activity of building up their character or performance based on the theme for the day. After lunch they will then create props and set designs for the end of day performance.
Children will get the opportunity to enjoy themselves through a wide range of different activities during the day, including;

- Your child/children must be signed out at the end of every day.
- We use the main entrance to the school on College Road to drop off and collect all children.
